LIBERTY, Mo., Jan. 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Ferrellgas Partners, L.P.
(NYSE: FGP), the nation's second-largest retail marketer of propane, announced
today that it has acquired the retail propane operations in Texas, Oklahoma,
Kansas and Missouri from Suburban Propane Partners, L.P. (NYSE: SPH).
The acquisition, which is Ferrellgas' 65th since its initial public
offering in 1994, adds approximately 13 million gallons to the company's
annual retail sales and closely follows the acquisition of Aeropres Propane, a
9 million gallon operation in Louisiana and Arkansas, which was competed on
December 31, 2003. Ferrellgas has offered employment to all the employees of
these former Suburban Propane locations.
